Frequently Asked Questions

Hail damaged hood
line of vehicles waiting for repairs

Welcome to our FAQ section! We're here to answer your questions about our auto hail dent repair services. Find expert answers to common questions below, or contact us for more information.

What is PDR (Paintless Dent Repair)?

Paintless Dent Repair is the art of gently rubbing an auto hail dent from underneath the dent, thereby retaining your vehicle’s original factory paint and finish; this helps retain your vehicle’s value when you sell or trade in your vehicle. No sanding, Bondo or paint is used in the process, and your vehicle’s panels don’t have to be replaced with after market parts. Depending on the
inaccessibility of the dent, we also utilize glue pulling to get at the dent from the top.

Do you really waive an auto hail insurance deductible up to $1,000?

Gladly, YES!
We can do this by negotiating labor rates with our artists, locating our repair facilities in
safe yet below market rent areas, and negotiating repair fees with your insurance
company. If this sounds too good to be true, we will gladly accept your deductible to
increase our bottom-line profit like the bigger body shops do. But read our reviews first
so you can see we offer that deductible waiver to everyone to help your bottom-line.

What if I decide not to repair my hail damaged vehicle?

Check your finance or lease
agreement; that decision may have already been made for you. If not, you could legally
decide to forgo repairs, but why would you do that? You’ve already pre-paid your repair
with your monthly insurance premium. And since we offer deductible assistance (up to
$1,000), a zero ($0) out of pocket loaner/rental vehicle while we repair yours, and pick
up and delivery service in most cases, we make this as easy and care free for you as
possible. Also, if you don’t repair your hail damaged vehicle, you are overpaying your
monthly insurance premium on a diminished value vehicle. There can also be adverse
consequences with your insurance company if the hail damage is not repaired and you
get hit with another hailstorm, or, God forbid, a major collision.

How long do I have to get my vehicle repaired?

Believe it or not, that is up to your insurance company in most cases. Some insurance companies will give you up to two years from the date of the hailstorm for repairs. Other insurance companies use the ubiquitous phrase “within a reasonable time frame.” Why take chances for more hail
damage from another storm while you decide? Or take the chance of a minor collision
whose additional repair costs will render your vehicle a total ‘loss’?

Will my insurance rates go up if I file a hail claim?

There are two categories for auto
insurance claims:

1) Comprehensive; 2) Collision

Auto hail damage is considered an act of God, so it falls under a comprehensive claim; in other words, the damage was not caused by anything within your control. In the great State of Texas, it is illegal for your rates to go up because of a comprehensive claim. Friend to friend, though, we’ll tell you based on experience, insurance companies NEVER lose money. They will raise rates on EVERYONE in the hail affected zip code – whether you file a claim and get repairs or not. Get your vehicle repaired because you will pay for it one way or the other.

Is Revolution Auto locally owned and operated?

Yes. We are proud to not only say we are owned locally by four partners, but all four partners are employees and are proud, patriotic Americans. As educated adults, we are aware that the history of the United States has a few episodes of embarrassing events. Nevertheless, we also know that the United States is still a beacon of hope for different tongues, tribes, clans, and
nations from around the world.

What if my insurance company suggests or strongly steers me towards one of
their repair facilities?

Well, thankfully we live in Texas, the best State by far in the Union. By Texas State Law, you have the freedom to take your vehicle to the repair facility of your choice. Remember, though: That’s how the big shops recoup non-negotiated labor and mortgage/rental costs.
